William James Palmer (27/10/1836 - 2/3/1915)

Born in  Thetford. Moved to Haughley in 1869 taking over Barnes bakery which already been on that site for forty years. A stauch Liberal and supporter of the Thomas Paine movement.

William Ewart Gladstone Palmer (14/4/1878 - 18/10/68)

Born in Haughley. Continued with the expansion of the business and established the flour mill in 1907. This eventually developed into a pig and corn merchant

Eric Palmer (Tom) (9/6/1915 -17/4/1999 )

Born in Haughley. Second son of William Palmer, managed the mill and farm, supplying the bakery with flour.  The mill was closed in 1977.

Roy Palmer (9/6/1918 - 14/12/89)

Born in Haughley. Third, and youngest son of William. Responsible for the running the bakery until a few years before his death in 1989. His entrepreneurial skills are well remembered and was responsible for the opening of the Stowmarket shop.

Kenneth Roy Palmer (13/6/45 - )

Currently running the bakery, having taking over as Roy withdrew from the long and hectic hours of running the business. Since taking over, Ken has opened shops in Woolpit, Stanton and two in Ipswich
